Two-year-old gelding Iluvmymoni, a son of Ready For Moni out of Iluvwineandroses, sped to a new world record during the second division of the fourth leg of the $75,000 Ohio Sires Stakes for freshman trotters. Under the guidance of driver David Miller, Iluvmymoni displayed exceptional class by dominating from start to finish and stopping the clock in 1:54.3, a time never before recorded by a two-year-old trotting gelding on a half-mile track. The gelding, trained by Steve Carter for owners Brixton Medical and Hatfield Stables, took the lead immediately after the start and set fractions of :28.1, :57.3 and 1:26.0. Mind On My Moni, driven by Ronnie Wrenn Jr., finished three lengths back in second, followed by Roll'n In Moni with Chris Lems in third. The victory in the Ohio Sires Stakes confirms Iluvmymoni's status as one of the most promising talents in North American harness racing at the moment. It was his third Ohio Sires Stakes win this season, along with two second-place finishes in five starts and total earnings of $120,125. The winner's strong pedigree is also attracting international attention. Ready For Moni, the sire of Iluvmymoni, has long been well-known in the breeding world, but this world record puts his offspring even more firmly on the map. The horse was bred by Wayne Weaver.
