The Hambletonian, the cornerstone of American harness racing, is set to move to Harrah's Hoosier Park in Anderson, Indiana, starting in 2027. Following a storied 46-year tenure at The Meadowlands in New Jersey, the Hambletonian Society has opted for this significant change. The decision followed an evaluation of various bids, with the proposal from Hoosier Park emerging as the most compelling. The relocation agreement includes several incentives designed to foster the race's growth at its new Midwestern home. For the sport, this marks the end of an era in New Jersey, while the organization remains optimistic that Hoosier Park can elevate the prestige of the classic to even greater heights. Participants and fans are already looking forward to the inaugural Indiana edition in 2027.
