Marion-Jauß-Deutsches Stuten-Derby 2026: four-year-old fillies battle for glory at Berlin-Mariendorf. Today, Saturday, August 15, 2026, the spotlight shines on Trabrennbahn Berlin-Mariendorf for the running of the Marion-Jauß-Deutsches Stuten-Derby.

In the final of this prestigious German classic, the nation's elite four-year-old fillies will square off over 1,900 meters. The action gets underway with the first race at 5:00 PM local time. Eliminations: Myrena and Mille Fleurs set the standard. The trials (Vorläufe) took place on Sunday, August 2, 2026, on the same card as the Deutsches Traber-Derby eliminations. Two fillies particularly stood out: Myrena (by Mister J.P. out of Nefertite del Rio), trained by Henk Grift and driven by Robin Bakker, dominated the second heat with a sharp 1:11.7 performance over 1,900 meters. Stonehillpearl (by Muscle Hill) finished second for Alessandro Gocciadoro in 1:12.1, with Dairenn (by Broad Bahn) and Josef Franzl taking third in 1:13.0. Mille Fleurs (by Fabulous Wood out of Viva La Vida Diamant), from the Wolfgang Nimczyk stable and handled by son Michael Nimczyk, was equally impressive in capturing the fourth elimination.

Driver changes: Bakker and Gelormini both sidelined

Robin Bakker, who piloted Myrena to a brilliant victory in the qualifiers, will be watching from the sidelines for the final. Bakker is suspended for the Stuten-Derby. While Gabriele Gelormini was initially tipped as the replacement, the Italian reinsman was also ruled out due to a suspension. Ultimately, Michel Rothengatter has been booked to take the lines of the favorite, Myrena. As rennbahn-berlin.de confirmed: Nun wird Michel Rothengarter die Favoritin Myrena im Stuten-Derby steuern.

Team Nimczyk
